DAY 1 : LIMA
  • Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Lima.

DAY 2: LIMA / CUSCO/ SACRED VALLEY
  • Transfer to the hotel in the morning to take the flight heading to Cusco.
  • Arrival and transfer to the Sacred Valley. On the way, we will make a stop at Awanacancha where we can feed Andean camelids such as lamas and alpacas.  We will then leave the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas to watch a demonstration and an exhibition of textiles of the local community where we will learn the main steps of this traditional activity. We will learn about- and if possible pick- tinctorial plants, and then do the tonsure and spinning of sheep and alpaca wool. Finally, we will work on the textile according to the local iconography. The people of the community will be our local guides and will make us discover the traditions and cultural richness. We will get to taste a delicious traditional meal prepared by the local inhabitants.
  • After the visit, transfer to the hotel at Sacred Valley.
  • Overnight at the hotel at the Sacred Valley.

DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY
  • We will get to visit more remote areas of the Sacred Valley.  We will start by visiting Chinchero, a lovely village and archeological complex.  We will then head to Moray, where we will enjoy an impressive view due to the  fabulous concentric terraces similar to an amphitheater. Its purpose is to create 20 different sorts of microclimates, a measure that ensured the agriculture production of the Incan empire. We will then go to Maras where there are the famous and thousand-year old salt mines from the colonial period. The impressive contrast between the white shafts and the green valley form a real postcard view of the Sacred Valley that you shouldn’t miss!
  • After lunch you will visit a temple that holds the same name and that was used as a fortress during the Inca resistance. This is the perfect place to take some collectible photos.
  • Return to the hotel.

DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY/ MACHU PICCHU
  • At the scheduled time, we will go to the Ollanta train station from where we will start one of the most spectacular train trips in the world on board of the Hiram Bingham. The experience in this train is just fabulous. Its classical style along with its unique configuration give the train a dining room look where you can taste the delicacies prepared by the chefs on board of the train. The route is impressive.   By following the course of the Urubamba river and going deep in the canyon, we will reach the Machu Picchu Pueblo. From there we will take a minibus which we will share to go up till the sacred citadel of the Incas: the Machu Picchu. At your arrival, you will meet your private guide and check-in in your hotel which is situated next to the Machu Picchu entrance.
  • At the scheduled time, you will start a private visit of the Machu Picchu (time of the visit is 2 and a half hours approximately). The indescribable magic and energy one gets from this archeological monument touches the heart. We will roam through the terraces, passages, temples, the ‘Intihuatana’ solar clock and other sacred places in a unique atmosphere and with the help of an experimented guide.
  • Diner and overnight at the hotel at Machu Picchu.

DAY 5: MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO/ CUSCO
  • At the scheduled time, you will meet the guide that will accompany us for the second day visit to the Machu Picchu  (duration of the visit 2 and a half hours approximately).
  • Lunch and ‘tea-time’ at the hotel.
  • At the scheduled time, we will return to Cusco and enjoy an entertainment and a very sophisticated gourmet dinner on board.
  • Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel at Cusco.

DAY 6: CUSCO
  • We will move away from the crowds of the city to visit Sacsayhuamán, an impressive ceremonial fortress formed of huge constructions and surrounded by a magnificent scenery which is in perfect harmony with the nature. We will then go to the Inca  place of worship Qenqo, which is an ancient puma temple. We will visit a sacrificial altar situated inside a giant rock. Finally, we will go to the Puca Pucará watchtower as well as to the Tambomachay, a grandiose monument on the architectural level and which is considered as the pillar of the Andean world. The duration of the tour is of 3.5 hours approximately. Get back to the hotel.
  • Free time for lunch
  • The itinerary in the city begins with a visit to the San Cristóbal square and its beautiful panoramic view of the city. After that, we will visit the San Pedro market to get to know the products of the region and their flavors. This market is the main supply center of the city. We will then go to the Koricancha temple which means the ‘golden site ‘ in Quechua because its walls used to be covered with gold. From San Blas, the district of the craftsmen, we will walk to the Hatun Ruiyoc street.  On the way, we will see the Incan palace Roca which has become today the Archbishop’s palace. We will see as well the Stone of twelve angles which renowned worldwide. We will then continue till the Place d’Armes and visit the cathedral in which there are valuable colonial masterpieces.
  • Back to the hotel.

DAY 7: CUSCO/ INC:PD
  • Free day. Overnight at hotel in Cusco.

DAY 8: CUSCO/ JULIACA/ PUNO
  • In the morning, transfer to the airport to take a flight heading to Juliaca.
  • Arrival and transfer to your hotel. In the morning, we will visit the pre-Incan cemetery of the Hatun Coola chiefs in Sillustani on the Umayo lake.  The cemetery is famous nowadays for its cylindrical  funerary towers called Chullpas , that can reach a height of 6 meters.
  • At arrival, accommodation at the hotel.
  • Free afternoon.

DAY 9: PUNO
  • Free day. Full accommodation at the hotel.

DAY 10: PUNO/ JULIACA/ LIMA
  • We will then go to the airport in Juliaca in order to take a flight back to Lima.
  • Arrival and transfer to your hotel .
  • Overnight at the hotel in Lima.

DAY 11: LIMA

  • At the planned schedule, transfer to the airport for the return international flight.

The Peruvian winter (May – September) is the driest season, hence the best time of the year to visit specially if you wish to visit the Cusco region or go hiking at the Machu Picchu. The summer ( December – March) is the most humid season with frequent rains.
